|Memorial Day is celebrated to remember those who lost their lives while serving in the armed forces. Formerly known as Decoration Day, the holiday originated to commemorate the Union and Confederate soldiers who died during the Civil War. By the 20th century, Memorial Day had been extended to honor all men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.
This Memorial Day we salute the men and women who courageously gave their lives and those who bravely fight today to protect our country. We are forever thankful for the great sacrifices our nation’s heroes make to defend our way of life.
