Celebrating National Women’s History Month

Members of the JURISolutions team had the pleasure of attending an Executive Leadership Luncheon today hosted by the Women’s Business Enterprise Council for PA-DE-sNJ. The event celebrated this year’s National Women’s History Month, themed “Weaving the Stories of Women’s Lives.”

We welcomed a preview of “The Women of Philadelphia: A Documentary,” with Nancy Moses, series creator and producer.

We were treated to stories from Lynn Sherr, the event’s keynote speaker, broadcast journalist, and recent author of a bestselling biography.

Lynn Sherr spoke for about an hour regarding a new book she authored, “Sally Ride: America’s First Woman in Space.” Lynn touched on the fact that Sally was a close friend of hers and overcame many odds during the course of her career as an astronaut. Sally made history as the first American Woman in space. She was a member of the first astronaut class to include women and NASA actually chose her for the seventh shuttle mission. Later on in life, Sally cofounded a company which promotes science and education for children, especially girls. Lynn ended her speech by giving us words of encouragement and reassuring us that we can succeed in life through preparation and hard work.

We were honored to be a part of this event and look forward to attending many more.
